Hello, hello!
This week – affiliate links on Pinterest.
Guess what! Affiliate links are now allowed on Pinterest. Well, they are allowed again. They had banned them in 2015 because spammers were taking advantage and clogging up Pinterest. But they are back! Yessss!
Why is that so good? Because it’s another way to hone in on what your followers like AND make money. When someone clicks from your affiliate pin to the product and then makew a purchase – you get a small percentage. Sort of like an advertising fee. Holla!
Here’s how you can take advantage of the new affiliate policy:
- Curate affiliate pins that YOUR Pinterest followers will like. Don’t spam them. Share links that you are generally interested in, have tried or know will help your followers. (Here are some good affiliate programs to join plus some great tips.)
- Disclose your affiliate links. (Kiki has a whole podcast on diclosure!)
- Update pins as necessary. Items go out of season or links may be broken. Be sure to check your affiliate links periodically.
I’m not saying you will see money roll in, but it’s a great way to start another stream of income. Grab a few products from your favorite affiliate and see how your followers respond to them. It’s that easy! (Ps.. if you need some help pinning, I can help!)
