Today’s topic – important marketing dates to remember
These dates are great to remember when you are working on your own editorial calendar. You can craft special messages and promotions for your customers based on what holiday is coming up. Or you can plan when you are closed or special holiday hours. It’s a great idea to keep this calendar handy when writing out your year.

And these are just the major holidays. There is a national day for everything as well. Check out National Day Calendar for things like National donut day, National best friend day and National chocolate chip cookie day.
Hopefully these important dates help you with your editorial calendar for the upcoming year. My advice to you is be aware of the upcoming holidays and start crafting your promos or specials or messages at least two weeks prior to the event. For example – you want to get Easter content out AT LEAST 2 weeks before the big day. The sooner you get it out the more you can promote it and draw in customers.
Think about it – when do we start seeing Christmas merchandise hit the stores? Sometimes as early as August! It gives people time to prepare and plan for the upcoming holiday. You want to do that with your social media content as well. Give it time to build some traction. Once you’ve crafted your message (hopefully well in advance), you can share it across your social media outlets over and over and over again. (With some other valuable tossed in of course.)
I’ve also made an important marketing dates print to share. It’s perfect to hang next to your calendar so you know what holidays or observances are coming up soon. Just enter your email and I’ll send it right over.
Happy planning!
